Half a century of case files

Since 1976 we have handled import, export and transit files with the same discipline. Customs legislation has changed many times over; each time, we learned it before our clients had to.

Process

How your file moves

Every file follows the same four steps, so you always know where it stands and what comes next.

1

Pre-review

We review the invoice, delivery order and product data, and tell you the HS code and estimated duty burden before anything is filed.

2

Documentation

Missing documents are completed; permits, conformity and surveillance applications are filed.

3

Declaration

The declaration is prepared and registered; inspection, valuation and payment are followed through.

4

Delivery & records

The goods are released and a complete, ordered file of documents is handed over to you.

Why Selçuk

We do not like surprises at the border

A delay at customs usually costs more than the duty itself — storage, demurrage, a stopped production line. That is why we treat clearance as risk management.

Good clearance is not solving a problem after it appears — it is seeing it before the declaration is registered.
  • Tariff and duty burden reported before the transaction, not after the invoice
  • A single point of contact who starts, follows and closes your file
  • A pre-check list that prevents waiting caused by missing documents
  • Notification of the regulatory changes that actually affect you
  • Orderly archiving and reporting of declarations, payments and documents

Guides and regulatory notes

Short guides on the questions we are asked most often.

Documents required from your company for customs

Before a company can be represented by a customs broker in Türkiye, a standard set of documents must be submitted to the administration. Without them, the power of attorney cannot be established and no declaration can be registered.

Why HS classification matters so much

The Turkish Customs Tariff Statistics Position (GTİP) is the 12-digit code that determines the duty rate and the permit regime applicable to the goods. Getting it right has a direct effect on cost.

Movement and origin documents in export

Whether your buyer can benefit from a preferential rate at destination often depends on issuing the right document. Which one applies depends on the destination country and the origin of the goods.
